SHAHRUKH KHAN RA ONE MOVIE, COLLECTIONS 14.63 CRORE, STORY, REVIEW,RATING

STORY
RATING : 3/5

Story: The story is about a father and his relationship with his son. Shekhar Subramanium (Shahrukh Khan) tries everything possible to impress his son, but Pratik (Armaan Verma) believes that his father is not so cool. In an effort to impress his son, Shekhar designs a game which changes their lives. The game which was meant to be played, starts playing with their lives, marking the entry of Ra.One and G.One.

Story Treatment: With months of promotional activities, Ra.One has tremendous curiosity value attached to it. The story juggles between Sci-Fi and Bollywood drama and leaves the audience enthralled in parts. The first half depicts various shades of a father-son relationship whereas, post interval the action unfolds. However, the script tends to lose its track by making the efforts tasteless. Comparisons with Rajinikanth’s Robot and SRK’s Ra.One are bound to happen, especially in sequences built upon the same track. For instance, the train chase sequence brings back flashes of Chitti and his robotic skills, when compared with the aerial G-One.

Star Cast: Shahrukh as Shekhar is innocent, crystal sharp and natural. King Khan as G-One tries to carry the aura of superhero with immense poise, but is caged as a ‘family superhero’ rather than messiah of all. Kareena Kapoor (Sonia Subramanium), as always, manages to be easy on the eyes with her great looks and acting calibre. She also makes one realise that even in a superhero film, a heroine is a must. Armaan Verma is a superb pick for his role, as he sinks into the character perfectly, sometimes even outshining established stars like SRK and Kareena. Rajinikanth, rightly referred to as the ‘Real Superhero’ in the movie as well, steals the show within few seconds of his entry and makes the crowd clap and whistle with his mere presence.  Arjun Rampal walks away with the cake for his deadly looks and impresses as the real bad man. Sanjay Dutt and Priyanka Chopra are wasted. Satish Shah’s presence induces a few funny moments. Shahana Goswami plays her part well.

Direction: What’s noteworthy about Anubhav Sinha’s work is the fact that he has paid attention to the quaint essential bit on the technological front and also, infused the right amount of emotional dose required for the movie to be termed an entertainer. The director makes his star cast look the best, yet loses few points as the track is led astray. At the same time, Anubhav understands the demand of Bollywood fans and tries to keep all the elements.

Dialogue/cinematography/music: Dialogues are a concoction of emotions with a message which runs throughout the movie, almost forming its soul- Victory of good over evil. Cinematography is excellent, while music is decent. Chammak Chhallo, which is already riding high on the popularity chart, lives up to the hype created, while Dildaara displays the love and emotional saga between Kareena and Shahrukh.

3ups and Down: Ra.One is surely crafted as a kids’ entertainer. Compared to Chitti, the emotional side of G-One takes a hit.  SRK’s fans, who have been missing him on the silver screen after ‘My Name Is Khan’, can grab this opportunity to see their hero in a never-seen-before avatar. The movie is a joyful cinematic experience for game enthusiasts.

COLLECTIONS:

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's Ra.One fails to cheer the box office on day one of its opening on October 26. BoxofficeIndia.com data indicate that the film collected only Rs 14.63 crore from the domestic box office as against the estimated Rs 25 crore.

The day one collections are well below Rs 22 crores that Salman Khan's Bodyguard clocked and on par with Rs 14.5 crores of Dabbang, the record holders. The low collections on day one is  despite the fact that Ra.One was released in 1500 screens more than Bodyguard and Dabbang and also had 500 3D screens release with higher ticket prices.

Industry observers had expected the film to break Bodyguard's records due to higher number of prints and the extraordinary hype. However, Eros International, the co-producers of the film claim that Ra.One has approximately grossed Rs 18.5 crore on the first day at the domestic box office.

According to Mutliplex officials, while the morning shows starting from 10 am were houseful on Wednesday, the collections fell from 1 pm in the afternoon at most places and did not really recover till late evening.

However, the fate of the film cannot be yet decided based on just day one's earnings. The final verdict on Ra.One will be out after this weekend. Golmaal 3 which released last Diwali grossed only Rs.8 crore, but later went on to cross Rs.100 crores at the domestic box office over a period of three weeks.

Vishal Anand, senior vice president, operations and sales, of Fun Cinemas, a multiplex chain, says, "It is unfair to compare an Eid release with a Diwali release (homes in North India generally have Laxmi puja in the afternoons on the Diwali day. This year, the muhurat was between 5-11pm. Today, (Thursday) will be the D-day for Ra.One. Print to print, Bodyguard yielded better returns."

The reviews of the film are mixed. But Anand says that it is a family film and kids (6-15 year olds) come to the theatre only with parents and they are liking the film. Komal Nahta, editor of Koimoi, a box office tracking website says: "People are overreacting to the first day numbers. We have to wait and watch." Nahta however is certain that going by the reports, this film holds no chance of breaking the record of all time blockbusters, Aamir Khan's 3 Idiots. "It is an above average film at the box office, at this juncture," he adds.

If the film fails at the box office will it be a setback for brand SRK? It is early to take a call on that say industry experts and are of the opinion that the failure of Ra.One is in no way going to affect the personality or brand value of SRK.

Sunil Punjabi, CEO of Cinemax multiplex, says that the distributors are erred by releasing lesser number of 3D prints. "Infact, we are expecting second time audience, who missed the 3D version on day one. With the kind of effects in the film, Ra.One has taken the quality of Indian movies to a new level. Family and kids will love it and we are expecting them to flock the theatres this weekend. The numbers on Thursday is certainly up there with Bodyguard". He further adds that the weekend advance booking are ahead of Bodyguard too.

Punjabi feels that there was sky-high expectation created due to the marketing hype which is one of the main reasons for the disappointment. Thursday is very strong and multiplexes claim they have collected almost one-third of first day's collection within the first two shows of the day.

According to industry insiders, when public compare Ra.One with Bodyguard it certainly is below par. But, if the movie crosses Rs.18 crores on day two, it can be termed as a hit and if it is below, Rs.16 crores it is going to be an average grosser and going by the early reports from the multiplexes on Thursday, the movie is well on its way to become a hit.

LOVE BREAKUPS ZINDAGI HINDI MOVIE SONGS, REVIEW, TRAILER

LOVE BREAKUPS ZINDAGI HINDI MOVIE SONGS, REVIEW, TRAILER

REVIEW:

Diya Mirza, Zayed Khan and Sahil Sangha. What do these three individuals have in common? A brand new spanking production house trading as Born Free Entertainment which is making its debut into the Indian Film Industry with Love Breakups Zindagi. Indicative of being a romantic dramedy , Love Breakups Zindagi is directed by Sahil and stars his partners in crime, Zayed (Main Hoon Naa) and Diya (Parineeta).

The premise of Love Breakups Zindagi is youthful, urban and fresh, qualities that have been greatly reflected in its soundtrack. The Brothers Merchant, namely, Salim-Sulaiman, fresh from their roaring success of Band Baaja Baraat have composed for the film while veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar has penned the lyrics. The album is made up of 5 tracks, one of which is a remix, and features the vocal talents of Sonu Nigam (‘Shukran Allah – Kurbaan), Benny  Dayal (‘Tu Hi To Meri Dost Hai’ – Yuvvraaj), Shreya Ghosal (‘Teri Ore’ – Singh is Kinng),  Shafqat Amanat Ali (‘Bin Tere’ – I Hate Luv Storys), Shruti Pathak (‘Mar Jawan’ – Fashion), Shrradha Pandit (‘Genda Phool’ – Delhi 6) and Salim Merchant (‘Ayvi Ayvi’ – Band Baaja Baraat).

Love Breakups Zindagi, which also stars Cyrus Sahukar (Aisha) and Tischa Chopra (Taare Zameen Par) releases on 7 October 2011.

The soundtrack commences with the optimistic Rozana by Salim Merchant that radiates positive vibes with every note. It is a very hopeful number that sees beauty, opportunity and goodness on a daily basis in things as mundane as mornings and nights. Written, performed and composed with equal parts zest and soul, Rozana is perfect for the daily commute (as depicted in the promo) to work and back. It has the ability to psych you up for the day and wind you down for the night. The track’s enthusiasm for life is impressive if not contagious. Rozana is also available as a remix, courtesy of DJ A-Myth that just speeds up the number a little and adds a few extra beats.

Next is Rab Rakha, that is just sheer beauty from the get go. It has already won the hearts of hundreds what with its promos hitting the music channels in the recent weeks past and rightly so. Salim, Sonu and Shreya effectively re-create the magic witnessed in ‘Shukran Allah’ (Kurbaan) with Rab Rakha. The track reflects a myriad of themes, in that it serves a situational number, a light dance track, a romantic duet and a prayer all rolled into one. It is as impressive lyrically as it is musically. We definitely have another Merchant masterpiece on our hands with this one.

Next is Love Love Love, a cute little boppy number by Benny and Shruthi that will get your feet tapping in no time. The track has a very sunny disposition in terms of lyrics, music and vocals. It is a street-side-symphony of sorts that is in love with the feeling of falling in love. Benny and Shruthi’s youthful vocals add to the freshness of the track.

The album ends on a sombre note with Chhayee Hai Tanhayee, a melancholic qawali sung to perfection by Shafqat Amanat Ali, Shrradha Pandit and Salim Merchant. As morose as they are, Javed Akhtar’s lyrics are first rate. It is a real pity that it is the shortest track in the soundtrack.

All in love, Love Breakups Zindagi, practices what it preaches in that it has songs of love, life and all that lies in between. Rab Rakha and Chhayee Hai Tanhayee obviously come out on top while Love Love Love and Rozona are close runner-ups. In any event, there is something to be loved about each track from the soundtrack and the Merchant brothers continue to remind us why they are considered as one the best musical duos of the current era.

1947 A LOVE SYORY telugu movie songs,review

1947 A LOVE SYORY telugu movie songs,review

STORY:

Malli (Arya) is a poor washer man under the rule of British in India in 1945. Amy Wilkinson (Amy Jackson) comes to live with her father who is the Governer. She and Malli fall in love but the couple get separated with India winning the freedom from British. Amy comes back in search of Malli after sixty years to India. She recollects all those sweet and sour memories from the past which forms this story.

Analysis:

This film’s premise is strikingly similar to Titanic. An old woman recollecting her love story is straight out of Titanic. Also there are resemblances to Bollywood hit Lagaan. Although the film is set in pre independence period, the director avoided to touch the struggle for freedom etc.

He has narrated a fictional love story that happened during that time. Boy and girl getting separated due to ‘independence’ is the plot of the film. 1947 starts on a promising note and the first half is really cool with stunning visuals. But the film lacked the bite in the second hour where the pace dropped down drastically and the film kept on dragging like there is no end.

There is no emotional factor for Telugu audience to relate with this Madarasi love story as the independence struggle is not shown at all.

Performances:

Arya is sincere in his role. He is very good in romantic scenes and tickled the audiences in few humorous situations. Amy Jackson is gorgeous. Anyone will instantly like her for her beautiful looks. She performed well too. Nasser, Cochin Haneefa, Balasingh, M S Baskar, Balaji, Kishore and all others did their bit for the film.

Technicalities:

Art director Selva Kumar has erected the beautiful sets of 1940's Madras. He has in fact recreated the old Madras. His work is the highlight of the film. Nirav Shah’s cinematography is another asset. GV Prakash Kumar’s music too scores brownie points. Production values are rich.

Director Vijay’s attempt can be lauded. He tried to narrate something different love story amidst the candy floss romantic tales. On the flip side, he should have worked on the emotional quotient in the film. Second hour lacked necessary grip to get the audience attention.

Final Word: 1947 A Love Story can be watched if you are interested to know how Chennai looked in pre independence days!

SHAHRUKH KHAN IN DON2, STILLS, POSTERS, REVIEW, STORY LINE

Release Date:December 23, 2011

Don 2: The Chase Continues is an action thriller film directed by Farhan Akhtar. It is the sequel to the 2006 film, Don: The Chase Begins Again, which itself is a remake of the 1978 film Don. The film stars Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta, Boman Irani, Om Puri and Kunal Kapoor.

SRK is set to do dangerous stunts in Don 2
Shah Rukh Khan is set to do dangerous stunts in Don 2, his forthcoming film.

Shah Rukh Khan’s first Don film, Don - The Chase Begins Again, directed by Farhan Akhtar, was a remake of the blockbuster 1978 film, Don. The film was released in India on October 20, 2006 and it was also simultaneously released internationally.

It received a very good response worldwide, and collected over Rs. 30 crores in India in its first week itself. The script of the previous film was written by Akhtar’s father, Javed Akhtar and Salim Khan.

The film stars Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Arjun Rampal, Ishaa Koppikar and Kareena Kapoor in a guest appearance. Eighty percent of the movie was shot in Malaysia, and was filmed around the tropical Langkawi island as well as the Petronas Twin Towers and the Jalan Masjid India area, which is the ‘little India’ of Kuala Lumpur.

The film was selected to be screened at the Berlin Film Festival. Critical reaction was mixed, with most reviews tilted towards the positive. It was a huge commercial success though.

In fact Don 2 will be the first Indian film to be shot In Dublin.Says the producer Ritesh Sidhwani, “We’re very much going ahead with the original cast Shah Rukh, Priyanka, Boman Irani, Arjun Rampal and Om Puri.Only those who died in the original won’t return, obviously.”

Also, for obvious reasons, this time there won’t be a double role for Shah Rukh. What he will be be doing is, some of the most heart-in-the-mouth stunts ever done by any leading man and certainly SRK’s most audacious actioner yet.

Reliance Big Pictures has bought the rights of Don 2 from Excel Entertainment for reportedly Rs 125 crore. The price has yet to be confirmed. It's thought that Reliance Big Pictures bought the rights for Don 2 along with other upcoming films from Excel Entertainment in a multi-film deal.

SPEEDY SINGH HINDI MOVIE SONGS

REVIEW:

Synopsis:Speedy Singh is a cross cultural family comedy set in the Indo-Canadian community in suburban Toronto, Canada.

Set in suburban Toronto, the film tracks a young man struggling between traditional Indo-Canadian family expectations and his dreams of hockey stardom.

Rajveer Singh is a 21 year old young man dreaming of a professional hockey career. We open with him dreaming of scoring a game winning goal, followed by a moment of bliss as beautiful girls surround him. Unquestionably, he has the talent to be an accomplished player, but faces many hurdles, the biggest of which is himself.

Raised as a traditional Sikh, Rajveer was forbidden as a boy to cut his hair and had to wear a turban, this stopped him from playing hockey, the game he loved. In his early teens, forsaking his family's religious traditions and beliefs, he removed his turban and cut his hair so he'd be more accepted within his country. His goal was to succeed in a traditional white man's sport, but this conflicted with his father's wish that he'd devote his life to his religion and the family business.

Unable to find a foothold in the game, Rajveer takes matters into his own hands by creating an all Indian hockey team (The Speedy Singhs), finding a coach and then bringing on his Uncle Sammy's trucking company as the team sponsor, doing all this behind his father's back. Along the way to the championship game, he is faced with the questions he had not wanted to address: family, friendship, loyalty and identity. And until he can answer these questions, the podium will always be out to his reach.

REVIEW:
Chak De! India, Goal, Iqbaal, Hindi film industry has actually tapped all types of sports to spin a story around it. But it’s not always that a movie centred on a less publicised sport of India makes the right cut. Yash Raj Films’ Chak De! India worked very well with the masses, Goal turned out to be damp squib while Iqbal only managed to get critical acclaim. Stand By too wants to be part of Chak De’s league as it’s a movie on a sport that is a favourite of many when Maradona or lately Messi is on the field – Football. Now it only remains to be seen whether it meets its purpose or not. Shekhar (Siddhart Kher) and Rahul are two budding and potential footballers with different behavioural traits but are thick friends. While Rahul is rooted to the ground, Shekhar, thanks to his illustrious millionaire father Dalip Tahil, cares a damn. Shekhar’s aggressive nature on the field loses him a place in the national team even though his father leaves nothing unturned to get him selected. On the other hand, Rahul makes it to the list riding on his merit. This initiates a process to kick Rahul out of the team and Shekhar in whichever twisted way possible. The bright side of Stand By is that it moves at a steady good place and the pace is maintained throughout. The initial 30 minutes make for an interesting watch purely for the matches shot in a gripping manner. The conspiracies and their failures are nicely written and executed. Even the sub plots keep you hooked. The entire credit going to four times national award winning director Sanjay Surkar for presenting the crisp initial minutes. But in a bid to make it intense and edgy Sanjay brings in a constant graph of highs and lows that disturb you. The moment the story starts griping it fizzles out only to get back on after sometime. Many situations and sequences in the film are left on assumptions. Screenplay could have been tighter. Songs crop up at places unexpected leaving you irritated and are completely unnecessary. The rivalries between the friends are not explored well. Stand By has its moments but they are very few and now enough to hold your attention. The entire film is fizzles out even before it takes off. Watch it if you have nothing else to do.

Mausam, a love story in its first season start with mere adolescent attraction between a Punjabi boy Harry, and a Kashmiri girl Aayat, in a small village of Punjab. It develops into young love between them in season two. Their love realizes its own depth in the hours of separation through season three. In the fourth and final season their love culminates into togetherness. But not before sacrificing a lot personally and learning the truth behind universal love. It is a passionate love story which sees, as its background various shades of life, questioning us and yet not becoming indulgent.
